In a rap world full of mumble rappers and copy cats, few lyricists find success. Rappers like Dave East, Joey Bada$$, AND A$AP Mob are among the few that stuck out in rap music today. But out of Harlem comes a new breath of fresh air in the form of up and coming rapper Don Mykel. Fresh off a great interview and freestyle with Sway at Shade45, Don Mykel is ready to take the world by storm.
Last month, Don Mykel dropped his EP “Infinite,” a body of work that shows off his lyricism, and his versatility. Songs like “N.W.O.” give you a peek behind the curtain, and assures the listener that he’s bringing a new world order with his sound, and his crew, 23rd Nation.
While promoting his EP, Don stopped by Shade 45 to deliver a witty and punch line filled freestyle over the 5 Fingers of Death segment of Sway’s morning Show. I think it’s safe to say that Sway was impressed with his different flows, witty bars, and woke lyrical content. Don Mykel is nothing to be played with.
Keep your eyes open for this up and coming lyricist. He and his crew 23rd Nation have a lot cooking. Here’s a look at Don Mikel’s EP release party at Mikey Likes Ice Cream in Harlem.
