Houston’s Northside native, OTB Fastlane is with no question in the fast lane to success and his vehicle of choice is the short yellow school bus. Why? Because he’s Bussin’ a term that means doing something pretty well or just plain awesome, as he explains. In the month of July, “Dawg Azz,” his 3rd single produced by Icestar off his ‘Don’t Miss Tha Bus’ project reached Number 1 in Texas, also peaking Number 2 on Radio One’s 97.9 KBXX Shazam local charts.
OTB Fastlane has been shown major support early on by H Town’s heavy hitters Slim Thug, and Paul Wall amongst others outside Texas. Most recently, Yo Gotti showed love on the emerging street anthem, “Dawg Azz” that just hit over 1 million views on YouTube with audio only.
Fastlane is appreciative of his accomplishments, but more excited to bring his forthcoming project ‘Metro Mart Baby’ to the world, dropping Aug 21st. He says his focus has been creating that connection that he has more than just clubs songs and fans will be able to tell without a doubt, who Fastlane is.
On Metro Mart Baby
“Metro Mart Baby is going to be raw and uncut. Metro Mart is a famous landmark in my neighborhood where I’m from, like generations… You can expect raw moments from me, I’m capturing all moments in the city so you could get a feel. It’s almost like an audio documentary. I been through so many things out there, it’s a place we used to hustle at. It’s the number one spot in the hood, It’s so deep even my old man he from the same spot I’m from.”
On Slim Thug
“My respect and relationship with Slim Thug is priceless, ever since I’ve been doing music even before I got a buzz he would tap in with me. Ever since day one I could get good game from him and the best thangs on how to move. For me that’s especially priceless for Slim to be in the game that long and have a legacy, that’s something all artist want.”
On his “Dawg Azz” Challenge
“The “Dawg Azz” challenge is really strictly for the fans and the people. Ever since I dropped the song people kept asking me where could they find the instrumental at. It was only right to put some fun into it and let the fans play around so they know they’re a part of it and I always do things for the people so that’s why the prize of giving money away comes in at… They’ve been supportive of me, why not? You got to support the people that support you back. The Dawg Azz Challenge is going dumb and if the people wasn’t supporting it things wouldn’t be going the way they’re going.”
