Michigan-based rapper and producer J Chase emerged out of the capital city of Lansing, Michigan in the early 2010s, first as a teenager with local group Black Diamond, and later as a solo artist. Born Joseph Washington, he adopted the J Chase moniker as his music career began to take off with the release of early mixtapes like Gumbo and Welcome to My Reality. His exposure increased with gigs opening for Big Sean, Bun B, Kid Ink, and other well-known acts, and by 2016 he’d found additional success with his single “Louder”
1. “She’s a Monster” is definitely a club banger, usually hits like this drop in the summer do you feel like it will be received fully as it should right now?
I feel like great music can always be received regardless of when it is released.
2. The single definitely has a Bay Area bounce to it, who are some of your influences?
Mac Dre, E40 , Too Short and G Eazy.
3. If you had to describe your sound in 3 words, what would they be?
Fun, Catchy and unapologetic.
4. With “She’s a Monster” being so well received, what can fans expect from your upcoming project?
Fans can expected an overall dope project that they can feel and vibe to from beginning to end. The project “Another Late Night” will be a classic dropping on all platforms December 14th.
