The age old fact that Rappers are completely different from MC’s is one that has stood the test of time, and one that New York-bred MC TruRebel Migs sets out to prove in the visual for his latest single “Slidin.”
Following up on his recent breakout single “Tight Rope” assisted by Dreamville’s Cozz, TruRebel Migs is single handedly bringing the gritty, lyrical nature back to Hip Hop in the visual for “Slidin.” Set in the rugged and lively streets of Harlem, ultraviolet visual FX intertwined with a minimalist aesthetic, captures a hyperaware TruRebel Migs deliriously spitting a dense, somewhat dark, yet truly impressive lyrical barrage.
Throughout the duration of video, as he tees off and goes bar for bar, we begin to feel TruRebel Migs pain and anguish, and his prose begin to manifest themselves as vivd depictions of his journey, adversities and triumphs . It’s truly hard to believe that TruRebel Migs released his debut mixtape The Books Of A Gnostic last year, given the refined and artistic nature his music exudes, backed his calculated flow and experienced wordplay.
